Regional District Approves Flood Protection Applications

Prince George, B.C.- The Board of Directors of the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George has endorsed three applications for the 2008 Flood Protection Program.
 
In the Shelley area, the Regional District has applied for rip rap bank protection on the left bank of the Fraser River. Close to 30 residences will benefit from the project.
 
In Miworth, the Regional District has two applications for rip rap along the Nechako on the Island Park and Bergman Road areas. 14 residences will
benefit from this project.
 
The total amount requested for all three applications is nearly $4.5 million

When you are floating down river on your back, it would be on your left side...
the water will win out in the end and the tax payers will pay for these people to has a senic view of the river and then pay to move them once the river does its thing
Ya the govt should just buy all those property owners out and be done with it.
Just like the ones near the river mouth.
After all our leaders really know whats best for us right.
