It's that time of year once again...an extra hour of sleep if you choose it
Tonight is the night our clocks "fall back" one hour to Standard Time.
Most residents across the country will set their clocks back one hour before heading to bed. The official change occurs at 2 a.m..
And the Prince George Fire Department is using the time change to remind city residents to check the batteries in their smoke detectors.

Fire Prevention Officer, Kelly Gilday, says the department would actually like to see parents go one step further and set off the alarm tonight to see if it does wake up the kids in their beds.
Gilday says, "It's important to see if it will wake them up and get them out of the house." He says, if not, the detector may need to be re-positioned to a better spot in the home, or an additional detector may be needed.
The time change also signals the fast-approaching winter season and it's shorter days. For some individuals, the shorter days bring with them the symptoms of depression, not present in the spring and summer months. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, this may be a sign of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). (for more information on SAD, click here)
The local branch of the CMHA is hosting an information workshop on Thursday, November 3rd between 7pm and 9pm in Room 1-317 at the College of New Caledonia. (for more information contact reception@cmha.ca )
