Prince George, B.C.- Jordy’s Lounge and Shooters Pub and Grill in Prince George have been given the support of City Council for the addition of 20 more seats.
The pub on Brunswick added a covered patio to the second floor of the facility. Initially the addition was supposed to be for smokers, but, with the changes in regulations, the seats would now be seasonal.
Jordy’s already has a license for 214 seats inside the facility but the owner is only using 144. Councilor Murry Krause noted that in the past there have been complaints about noise from the Gold Cap Motel.  The owner of Jordy's Lounge, Jordy Hoover, says the patio will be closed in  with the use of accordion style glass doors and that should reduce the potential for noise complaints.
Speaking  for the GoldCap/Travel Lodge , Ross Stewart  says he has to admit that since Jordy Hoover took over the premises, the noise issues have improved.  "I think all in all he's done a very good job."  He says  there are just a few things that might be  added to the application.   The existing south wall is just 26 feet from the Gold Cap.  "Any noise of any consequence will interfere with the Gold Cap" but he is willing to go along with the expansion if something can be done about the large screen t.v.'s which will be attached to the exterior wall and he worries the speakers will be too loud.
The Liquor Licensing branch has already  approved the lounge, IF City Council  gave its blessing.  Council apaproved it unanimously,  clearing the way for that patio to open.

Why does the city need to increase the seating when only 144 seats are currently being utilized? Chester
I appears to me that if it has anything to do with alcohol it gets passed...have my thoughts on why.....but not for here....
Who cares? Shooters is a class act all the way, real nice place to have a few pints. The owner is constantly throwing money into the place so why not let him try and recoup his investment, remember people this is money from the private sector not your tax dollars being pissed away. Its nice to see a DOWNTOWN business that is not a eye sore or a social service outlet
How many times has that place change owners? Sheesh!
