Most People do not report Crime. Nothing is done, when you do......Instead They phone their Inserance company and forget it...That is why the crime rate are down, it is not been reported to the Police.
Do you have stats to show an increase in crime related insurance claims over the last year or is this just your opinion?
We are not through 2008 yet and 2007 is worse than 2005, so it is not accrurate to say crime declined "for the third straight year".

2006 seems the worst year in every category. Around 26000 crime offences for a city of 80,000 population. Almost 1 crime for 3 persons. How this compares with crime in other cities and how many criminals are responsible for all these 26,000?

It seems that the ratio of crime per population has been increasing despite
the decline in population in PG.
Don Mackenzie has it correct.
People are sick and tired of being ripped off and nothing getting done to resolve it.
Insurance is a scam that makes the insurance companies and their agents rich, period.
What about the repeat victims I wonder what their story is? In the last year I can't think of anyone I know that has been a victim of any of those kinds of crimes, or any crime... so it makes me wonder who are these victims and how do they come to be so victimized?
I don't undersand this idea that the population of PG has dropped - it just doesn't seem like it. I heard that stats canada (or whoever does this statistic) was wrong and they were going to do it over again. To me, it seems busier than ever in PG and all the construction, I have to wonder what is going on? All crimes should be reported to the police. Most crimes there is NOTHING they can do, but I'm sure a file is created...it is not in the best interest of anyone NOT to report a crime...
