Prince George, B.C. – For those of you feeling a bit like Eeyore with a cloud of rain over you, there is good reason as August has already produced 93.1 mm of rain.

As of August 25th, Prince George has received 11 days of rain. Two of these days however contribute 40.5mm alone as August 10th had 24.4mm and August 24th had 16.1mm fall.

July may have also felt a bit dreary as Prince George received 17 days of rain with a total of 73.9mm.

The average rainfall is 51.1 mm in one month.

Jim Steele, Environment Canada, says it has been a wet, but warm summer, “13 days of rain is the average, however 16.7 has been the mean temperature . Normally it is about 14.8.”

The positive note is that we are not breaking any rainfall records as August 1948 still holds the title with 147.3mm.

Summer 2008 did set a record high temperature August 6th with 31.3 degrees.
