Prince George, B.C.- So we already know the last long weekend of summer was wet, but the whole month of August was not great.

August of 2008 in Prince George will go in the history books as the second wettest August on record. It was the wettest August in 60 years!

Environment Canada’s Acting Warning Preparedness Meteorologist Gabor Fricska says Prince George was doused with 146.2 mm (5.755 inches)of rain last month. The only August that had more rain was August of 1948 when the city experienced 147.3 mm (5.799 inches).
While it may seem like there was a thunderstorm every second day,  the records show there were three thunderstorms in August, one less than the usual number of 4.

I sure hope this trend doesn't continue over the winter. Snow in September anyone?

I love the title, "Acting Warning Preparedness Meteorologist".
Global warming? Don't mention that to Prince George citizens. We're freezing in August and September. Not to mention May and June.

Did you happen to notice that not one global warming ALARMIST (Dave Suzuki) has mentioned the dust bowl in the 1930's? There was very few cars and very little industry at that time.

It's the natural evolution of the universe. We're being financially soaked for the flavour of the day by our "flavour of the day" polititians.
Elections are coming. Bring them on. We need change.
Ahh... Snow. The Winter City will fight to keep it like summer though. No SNOWmobiles allowed in the winter city.
Sounds to me like this should be called "climate EXchange", That is to say we are getting Prince Rupert's climate with all this rain.
The correct term is "climate change"; I believe the buzzphrase "global warming" is a media concoction.
