Operations Manager Linda Weibe says there are 81 buses serving 3 different school districts ready to roll. “We had the drivers out on Labour day, doing a dry run so everyone is familiar with their route and it all came off without a hitch” says Weibe.
Some new drivers are joining the school bus fleet in fact, Weibe says several graduated from their training course on the long weekend. She says Diversified is still looking for drivers, but not for a full time jobs “We need spares, people who can full in when one of our drivers is sick or needs time off.”
School District 57 Superintendent Brian Pepper says the District is ready “We are looking forward to a new school year and getting back into the classroom.”
Classes will get underway this morning at their regular time, but the school day won’t be too long. Students should report to school at the usual time unless informed otherwise in June. Dismissal times will vary from school to school. School buses will return students home shortly after dismissal.
