Prince George, B.C.- On Friday,  a new  campaign for the Terry Fox Run will be officially unveiled.  It's called the $50 for 50 Campaign.

Prompted by the celebration and remembrance of what would have been Terry Fox's 50th birthday (July 28th) anyone who raises, or donates $50 or more to the Terry Fox Run will be entered in a draw to win $50 gift certificates from  Prince George Sports stores.

“The most important thing for Terry Fox was to raise enough money to eradicate cancer and prevent others from the suffering he and his family experienced,” explains Liza Arnold, Organizing Committee Chair. “We were aware that this was his 50th birthday, and wanted to plan something special to commemorate it. The $50 for 50 Campaign is an excellent way to honour Terry’s legacy and help raise money for cancer research at the same time.”

The actual  Terry Fox Run is set for the 14th of this month.  It will start and finish from the new Terry Fox statue on  7th Avenue.  Anyone taking part in the run  can fundraise in person, or make a pledge on line at www.terryfoxrun.org.
