Cougars Do Trade With Edmonton

Prince George, BC- The Prince George Cougars have acquired 20-year old defenceman Cameron Cepek and a 2009 6th round bantam pick from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for Prince George’s 2009 3rd round bantam draft selection.

 

Cepek was originally selected in the 7th round (123rd overall) of the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft by the Portland Winter Hawks. He would play in 136 games over three seasons before the Edmonton Oil Kings selected him in the expansion draft. Last season with Edmonton, Cepek tallied 7 goals and 18 assists for 25 points. He also added 119 penalty minutes.

 

Cepek has played in 194 career games posting 12 goals, 36 assists, and 381 penalty minutes.

 

Cepek is a 6’2”, 181 pound native of Huntington Beach, California. Cameron was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 7th round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and will attend training camp this season with the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Detroit Red Wings.
