Proclamation of BC Seniors Games Week

Prince George, B.C. - The Seniors Games flag was raised at City Hall today to represent the events that will occur throughout the week. Mayor Colin Kinsley proclaimed September 8 to 14, 2008 as BC Senior Games week in Prince George.
Jo Selkirk represents the volunteer spirit at 96 years of age as she looks forward to her role in the games, “I will be at the Lost & Found for one afternoon, I like to be able to help wherever I am needed.”
The BC Seniors Games will have 2700 participants ages 55 and over in a variety of events such as archery badminton, carpet bowling, chess, cribbage, curling, cycling, darts, dragon boat racing, golf, hockey, horseshoes, lawn bowling, mountain bike racing, one-act plays, racing, slo-pitch, snooker, soccer, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field and whist.
The Games officially get underway Wednesday with opening ceremonies at Kin 1 from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
