Three Local Arts Organizations Get Funding

Prince George, B.C.-  Three Prince George arts organizations will receive a total of $116,600 in BC Arts Council grants to help cover their 2008/2009 operating costs.

* TNW Theatre North West Society - $65,000
* Prince George Symphony Orchestra Society - $38,600
* Prince George Conservatory of Music - $13,000

BC Arts Council grants were awarded to a variety of arts and culture organizations as well as to individual artists to help strengthen and expand a wide range of artistic disciplines in B.C. including music, visual arts, literature, theatre and dance.

The British Columbia Arts Council is the Province's primary agency for supporting arts and culture programs in B.C., with an annual funding budget of $13.8 million. To date, the BC Arts Council has provided over $158 million in funding to assist artists and arts and cultural organizations throughout the province
