Mayor Reports Successful Business Forum

Mayor Colin Kinsley says his recent visit to Vancouver for the Hong-Kong business forum may develop some positives for the region.

Kinsley says he met with the head of Harmony Airlines and worked to sell them on the idea of non stop flights from Prince George Airport to Hawaii, Hong Kong, or Mexico. Kinsley says there was a great deal of interest in that idea and there will be some follow up.

He says there was also some positive feedback for Barkerville with Hong Kong delegates showing a willingness to partner in some sort of sponsorship with the Barkerville Trust to preserve Chinese history in the Central interior.

Mayor Kinsley says delegates to the forum were issued invitations to attend meetings at Prince George House, the Initiatives Prince George office in Vancouver.

This report is 12 pages long and outlines the expenditure of major funds, the majority of which, if not all will be spent in the Greater Vancouver area.

Im not aware of our Mayor being in attendence at the announcement, nor have I heard that he was even aware of it. I would suggest that it was a far more important function than the Hong Kong forum, he attended at a representative of the Regional District.

Someone should tell the Mayor that Barkerville is out of his jurisdiction, and is being well looked after by the People of Quesnel and their Regioal District.

I'm kinda curious as to what Lil Colin has to do with Barkerville?Is he not the mayor of PRINCE GEORGE.Personally I don't give a rip about Barkerville.
