I must say. Although I know there's still a lot more work that could be done, it's nice to drive on some nice paved roads now. 10th, 5th, Central.....hey, it's a start. Good job.
$100.35 a barrel and gas is still at 136.9. What a bunch of thieves.
See the center line down Pulp Mill Rd? I see they still haven't learned to drive in a straight line since practising on Foothills.

A few nice days coming up that's a plus.
Received this email on Wednesday:

"Hello Membership

I have just received word from the principal at Peden Hill Elementary School, that a boy who goes to her school just informed them that at the Soccer Fields last night a stranger who is a male approached him in a black truck to go with him.
Description of the Male
Man with beard
Brown Hair
Brown skin

Parents please make sure your child safety is first. Please let the coach know if someone else is picking up your child. Do not let the child be left alone in the parking lot.

Thank you

In my opinion I think we should all be supporting Sara Palin, John McCain's VP pick.

Unfortunately the zionist owned media (including ours)is kicking into high gear with their smear of this women... because they see her as one who could bring down the whole AIPAC-zionist-communist-neocon-bankster cabal in Washington DC that controls both parties and thus the US government... as it has for most of the last 40+ years.

John McCain is a man I wouldn't have voted for (if I was American, which I'm not) two-weeks ago because he has lost his trust factor through the positions he has taken the last 8-years. However I did read John McCains book 'Hard Call' and found it a very good book of character and about decision making. In one of the stories he talked about how important it sometimes is to recognize who your potential enemies are and keep them close so that you can know what they are up to. I don't agree with that, but it may account for the reason he is now the republican nominee for president. I don't think the Washington cabal seen it coming, and now the only way they can stop what McCain is clearly stating he will now do is through smear from their vassal organs in the media.

John McCain knows Washington and where all the cockroaches hide... not just from being a Senator for the last 30-years, but also through his father who was the Secretary of the Navy when he was growing up. Sara Palin has already took the establishment on in Alaska and swept the place clean. Now John is talking about setting her lose in Washington with his full backing and knowledge where she needs to look.

Why is Sara so good for Prince George and British Columbia you might ask? She is good for PG, because Alaska is our future for large scale economic growth... more so than even the container trade through Prince Rupert and possibly even the airport potential. Sara is for connecting pipelines from Alaska through the Yukon and Northern BC to the lower-48. This will generate enormous exploration and possible production opportunities, as well as economics of cheep energy for places like the Yukon that did not exist before the tie in potential... and PG should be positioning to be the service center for this growth. Furthermore Sara Palin also support a rail link that would link Asia-via Alaska to the lower-48 and guess who is the one positioned to be the service center for that multi billion dollar project and the benefactor once its built north of town... so clearly Sara Palin as the second most (arguably the most) powerful person in the world (John McCain is 72-years old) would have huge influence in Washington for support for her interests, if nothing than to keep her at bay for a while longer... while the criminals all plan their exit from dodge.

So in light of this, I was disappointed at the Vancouver (Israel Asper Can-west Global) Sun editorial coming out with the zionist-NWO-neocon-Obama talking points slandering her and talking about how she would be a huge risk and no good for BC. Nothing should more clearly show how our media is occupied by foreign interest than that editorial IMO... not because they slammed Sara Palin with negative innuendo... but rather, because the paper was taking a political position in favor of its ideological ownerships interest, and not the interest for the community in which the paper proports to represent.

The Vancouver Sun failed the interest of the province of BC in coming out so negatively against the republican VP pick, who is from a neighboring state, in light of the obvious benefits she would have economically to the northern part of the province, to say nothing of her anti corruption agenda... and the Vancouver Sun chose instead to take the ideological side of their ownership group. That my friends is why we have Gordon Campbell as our premier and the BC liberals as the party of the multinational corporations in power in BC without so much as a whimper from the media about all their scandals.

Of course AIMHO....
"In my opinion I think we should all be supporting Sarah Palin, John McCain's VP pick."

How would you support her? Send her money or a smiley postcard? Supporting the idea that she and McCain should run the US of A for the next 4 years doesn't make a bit of sense.

More war, more killings of civilians, more coffins being unloaded in the middle of the night containing killed American and other soldiers?

She already indicated who is on the hit list for the next shock and awe.

Enough is enough, in my humble opinion...

Election hey? the problem is its like trying vote between getting the flu, getting in a car accident, or getting kicked in the lower extremities. They all suck!!! But hey crappy politics is only a minor thing to worry about in this country. Have a good weekend folks.
I see hunting season is here again. Dont get me wrong I myself enjoy hunting, but I see that are Biologist extended cow calf season another week. He has to be brain dead, shooting calfs is killing next years crop, not to mention there would be more spike bulls and 2 points the following year at 3 times the weight. Im tired of these desk sitters making decisions and not held accountable. After hearing all the excuses why we have a cow and calf season,
I had a conservation officer admit to me that the only reason they do is to generate money.
I have found 3 dead bulls in the last 4 years shot and left by idiots. I urge you to send a email to fish and wildlife and tell them of your displeasure in this brain dead decision.
WHY DO CARS COME WITH ASH TRAYS IF NO ONE USES THEM!!!!!!!! smokers think it is gross to butt out in their ash tray and would rather polute our city.
The kids have been back to school 7-8 days.
Again the speeders DO NOT GET IT.
As a courtesy I will hand out invitations to the next BLOCKADE,coming soon to a school zone on the HART [Glenview]and this time it will be a Zoo.
WHY DO CARS COME WITH ASH TRAYS IF NO ONE USES THEM!!!!!!!! smokers think it is gross to butt out in their ash tray and would rather polute our city.
I had decided not to post any more comments on this site due to the fact I was tired of the negativity and nastiness, but I do scan the articles from time to time. But EAGLEONE's comments cannot go unchallened.

"Zionists" "Cockroaches" "Criminals"?????

You're kidding, right?!?
I too have to complain about drivers and schools-buses. I waited on the other side of the highway as 3 vehicles ran through the flashing lights on the school bus. My duaghter is only 6...I only have one child and if something happens to her because of just plain ignorance. I will be beyond angry.
The driver indicated it had been complete chaos. Do poeple have no respect !
Results of a blockade:

Those that agree with you know think you are an idiot with nothing better to do with your time.

Those that are indifferent to you will speed more and justify it to themselves as they are getting back at the idiots that blockaded the road last time.

People shouldnt speed anywhere, especially school zones.

People also shouldnt create situations where peoples time is needlessly wasted.
We are to expect a huge increase in pump prices today because of a hurricane that is 4000 miles away. We have oil and refineries within a days drive and closer and this is the reason pump prices are going to shoot up. Someone really needs to explain this so I understand it otherwise its just pure corruption
doneright- What do 3 dead bulls left by ignorant hunters have to do with the decision to lengthen cow/calf season?
Good point Diplomat. That makes it a tough call for sure if one had a vote. I'm not talking about voting though. In support I don't mean we go and march in their parade to war as you suggest, but rather take the ideas that are important to Sara Palin from Alaska (who is on a crusade with enormous public support) and regardless of America's war situation, we should still I think have local politicians of some sort that pick up on the $40 Billion dollar pipeline she is championing and encourage more of that kind of Alaska infrastructure development that we can tap into servicing on the Canadian side of the boarder.

What is Jay Hill saying? What is the federal vision is for the Alaska-lower48 routes that transit Canada and will have a huge potential to provide economic opportunity? What about the other politicians... or are they all waiting to see what the Americans will propose... because the Americans will then propose to off shore drill in our 54-40 waters that they claim... which Sara Palin also supports and that is bad from our point of view... but maybe we can negotiate on our behalf somehow (interesting concept) on all these related issues that are probably the biggest issues that will face our region over the next couple of decades. This could be seen as a huge opportunity. Its a concept of engaging in the debate before the debate engages us. I called it support because if we are positive in our dealings with Sara Palin now... before she becomes a major power in Washington... then hopefully we will have a friend on our side that will consider our views in mutual win-win situations that we are bound by geography to be dealing with at some point in the near future. Or we could diss her along the smear lines and hope the Americans vote for Obama who is financed by the banks... and led by the war with Russia crowd that see Iran and Pakistan as stepping off points.

Its a tough call for the Americans when they vote, but that doesn't mean Canadians don't have an interest in issues that will affect us and that those issues shouldn't be in play. Maybe now that we have some elections of our own going on... maybe some politicians that want our vote will pick up some policy that can jive with the rising star in American politics for a win-win situation. I don't think its much to hope for.
I just got home from walking my child to school, some must be in a real hurry if so they should get out of bed sooner,so they can get there children to school with out SPEEDING thru the SCHOOL ZONE.There will be a police presents soon and after a few of these brain dead get a ticket or 2.we'll see
Buzz that is a kind of harsh way of putting it, but maybe you need to do some research.
If Galveston is washed out to sea tonight then I predict the mills will all have to start up and run their third shifts. Thats a big city and would be far worse than Andrew was. Lets hope no one dies in this tragedy, but it sounds like it will be bad....
Eagleone: "research" can be a very subjective term.
Have a nice day, and Zig Heil.
Eagleone, you are wasting your time cozying up to the USA. They don't give the slightest hoot about how we feel about them and what our Canadian problems are. I have some email friends in the USA and they are totally uninformed about Canada, except that they seem to know that we have a better healthcare system and that we have oil and gas that they need.

Ann Coulter said on a US televison channel: "Canadians are our poor retarded country cousins and if they make too much trouble we should simply go and invade them, something we should have done long ago. Canadians should realize that they are lucky that we allow them to live on that part of the North American continent. They should just shut up, who cares what they think?"

This was during a discussion about the federal Liberal (staff official) from Quebec who openly called George W. Bush a moron.

I have heard other American commentators voice similar opinions because the Liberal Prime Minister of Canada refused to give in to major US bullying to join the US led invasion of Iraq, a country which had done nothing to provoke the US shock and awe and had no weapons of mass destruction.

Let Canada go its own course, being as independent as possible in policies and actions!

The USA does not respond to Canadian concerns, as proven over many years of fighting to get its way in the softwood lumber dispute, for example.

Diplomat, No sane American listens to Ann Coulter.
The sad reality is that many, many Americans do listen to what Ann Coulter says.

I don't want to generalize but your typical down south, hard line conservative, god-fearing American eats that stuff up.

Scary but too true.
Re Driving, can anyone help
what are those solid yellow lines and white signs with numbers on the road for, are they
road decorations, temperatures or whatever but do not apply to you.
Outwest, if I followed the lines on the road, I'd be all over the place.
"We are to expect a huge increase in pump prices today because of a hurricane that is 4000 miles away. Why is it that most here would not complain if lumber prices or pulp prices went thru the roof but if gas does we cry?

Its called a commodity and its globally priced.
I am not gonna vote Lieberal in this election cause I don't want that Dion feller to give me another carbon tax. Simple, eh? No more taxes. Read my type.
Bet if they increased speeding tickets to $150,000.00 in a school zone there would be an instant solution to the problem!..include running flashing lights on buses too!..
Hey Elsies Dad, read the top of the page about not bullying other posters. They're entitled to their opinions just like you are.

Born in BC is right on the money. Unfortunately, you'll never figure that out.

"Diplomat, No sane American listens to Ann Coulter."

I know that. But I understand that she has a huge audience...which, by logical conclusion, must be of the other kind, namely not sane, or insane.

If she did not have high audience ratings the networks would have dumped her already a long time ago.

She also sells a lot of books, some making it even on the NYT bestsellers list.

There isn't much sanity in American politics and the commentators profit from it.

Besides that, the color of your skin will determine how fast the blockade will be removed and also how effective it will be.
On another note. Who is it that insists upon driving around my neighbourhood at all hours of the day and night with your stereo pounding out the tunes?
You know your an AS...LE right?

What is it with prople, why do you refuse to respect peoples right to peace and quiet in their homes.
Perhaps being egged will tune you in.
The city of PG and the RCMP refuse to deal with you so I will.

Everyone that plans to vote this November needs to remember the mismanagement we have witnessed during the time this administration has been in office, including all those that have been long timers in city council.

We need a complete changing of the guard this time.
Vote for change.
The price of gasoline just went up 11 cents a liter....2008 Sept 12....after dropping 2 cents yesterday....talk about a gouge jog....
Eagleone I agree with you, this is maybe the best opportunity BC has had in a long time if Palin gets into office. She has already delt with BC on mutual interests, so knows we exist and understands issues of the north. I do not agree with all her views but at least she knows where BC and Canada are. There is potential rail, pipeline and road opportunities. I say lets give it a run.
I only have one thing to complain about:

'STOP TAILGATING ME!!!'

Otherwise, it looks like we are going to have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the sunshine everyone :-)
Provincial NDP announcement of 25 ridings reserved for women and minorities...is this not sexism-racism. I suggest the announce 'pick best candidate for the riding'...probably better for a British Columbians. Carole James seems pretty intent on tackling the real issues
Does anyone remember a time when this city WASN'T mismanaged?

I'm not defending the current council but I seriously don't remember anyone doing better than a half-assed job.
Sorry for the dbl post. Crap setup on this website.
:o
ones enough do not need or want another, but thanx again pG,say heehaw!
Parksville city council wants to build a new firehall for their VOLUNTEER fire dept so they can sleep there.
They had one of those petitions that only those that oppose it are to sign.
They were given a two week time limit to get it signed at the end of August when no one was even around. The petition was successful by 18 signatures in stopping the build.
Get this....even though the petition was successful they will still be conducting a referendum on the issue during the November elections.
It appears that no doesn't really mean no.

Apparantly our city council wants to do the same type of petition thing here for this trail building scam.
They are making the no side do all the foot work to defeat their plans. Even though it may be defeated in the petition it doesn't mean it won't be built.
Things that are voted against here seem to get built anyway.

I say if you want it built you can donate your never ending supply of money to the project and put user pay tolls on it.

STOP WASTING OUR TAX DOLLARS
Whats with the stupid people who must speed EVERYWHERE? Never speed in a school zone (I got my first ticket as a 16 yr. old in a school zone, way too long ago) It seems that there is always someone climbing up my tail pipe, and I always drive at, or just slightly above, the speed limit. ZFerchrissakesbackoff!
metalman.
why on earth would I slam on the brakes - for someone to hit me? Ummmm... as satisfying as that may be, I certainly don't want to cause myself or my children any injury. Nor would I want to put anyone else around me in danger. Even the smallest of collisions can cause damage for life.

No thanks.
I've never understood this whole tailgating thing, I've never had a problem with it. Mind you, I keep up with the flow of traffic.

I certainly have gotten behind some drivers who are oblivious to everyone else on the road and seem to have no idea where they're going or how they're getting there. Then the oblivious driver usually ends up slowly turning without signalling or it's somebody yapping on a cell phone. If people just paid attention there wouldn't be near as many problems.
I've never understood the logic behind attempting to cause an accident to "get back" at someone you think is driving unsafely. Isn't the whole motive behind someone's discontent around tailgating the fact that its unsafe? Now the person in front is going out of their way to be unsafe.

A few months ago I was heading down the Hart Hill. An older Chevy pick-up was following a rig in the slow lane. Being faster moving, I was in the left lane and the Chev pulled out in front of me and cut me off. Apparently he felt that I was following him too closely after he cut me off so he fingered me out his window and literally locked his brakes to the point where his rear end was swerving and his tires were smoking. Luckily I never hit him after he nearly caused 2 accidents, but what really gets me is how he probably went and told his pals how he "really put a tailgater in his place today."

A "How To Drive" video .... poor doggy!!!
Some of it is nasty ha ha's but had to share.
Eagleone. We live in Canada. The new station is 49 for cable.
Just a thought for IPG!! As a taxi O/O, I have the opportunity to pick up people coming off Via Rail's passenger trains. These people are tourists, coming from places all over the world. They arrive at approx. 8:00 at night, and they leave the next morning at about 8:00. Now, considering they have to be at the railway station an hour before they leave in the morning (7:00 AM) after arriving at 8:00 at night, do you really think these tourists dollars are shared with our city! Hell, they don't even have enough time to go to a restaurant and have a meal! That is, after travelling on a train all day!!

I think you better get together with VIA Rail, and come up with an agreement, and a solution, for these passengers to maybe spend a little more time in Prince George, and maybe SPENDING MONEY!!

Or maybe I should send IPG a bill, for sharing my great knowledge of this city, to our visitors, and giving them a rushed tour on the way to the hotel/motel!!

And on that note, some of these tour companies that organize these tours, and put people up in motels that don't have restaurants, shameful! These visitors get off that train, and are hungry, because, from what they tell me, the food on VIA is very bad. They tell me that hospital food is gourmet compared to the food on VIA!!

Yep, we sure give them a lasting impression of good OLD Prince George!!

IPG is a waste of money, our money!! Get out of town, now!!
Lamb, I don't get cable and I don't understand what your talking about. Yes we live in Canada... I agree with that, so I guess I just don't know what you're talking about?
Rambleon, I had the same thing a few years back. I was coming down the Hart in the morning and came up behind the usual road blockers that drive side by side and no big deal... but then the the Chevy pick-up (mid 80's white) I was following.. the driver was arguing with the passenger and to make his point slamed on the brakes smoking his tires to a complete stop with no warning... had I been tailgating I would have hit him for sure. Of course now I was the bad guy and got the finger as well, so I gave it back and told him any time he wants to stop again, but he speed away. Sounds like it could be the same guy, but who knows how many people really do that kind of thing.
Taxinapothole, I have a plan for Via and their passengers that would be a 180 turn around from the kind of service they receive today, but it will be years before I'm in a position to implement the plan. I too am embarrassed at how we deal with those tourists in this town... no wonder the other tour operators are going into Quesnel rather than PG.
Heidi, that was hilarious. Thanks for the link. :)
I was born in Prince George, and no, I haven't lived here my whole life, at least not yet!! I am so embarrassed at what a @#$% hole this city has become!! And for the folks that don't agree, you have that right!! But before you pass judgement on my OP, I invite you do ride with me in my cab for a night!!
take a trip to the old west, come to Prince George,,,,,,,,,,,,,
