CIty Debt Questions Unanswered

The matter of how deep the City is in debt, has yet to be addressed.

Opinion250’s Editor, Ben Meisner, is still trying to find out just how much money the city owes.

Meisner has sent e-mails, requesting the information to Sandy Stibrany, the City’s Manager of Financial Services, City Manager George Paul, the Mayor and all members of Council.

The e-mails ask for a detailed report on all City debt as of the end of October 2005. For further clarification, the e-mails note this is not a request for information on how much the City can borrow, but rather, how much is owed.

I look forward to the result of Ben's persistence in this matter. Our City Council needs to be accountable and it is up to us (the citizens of Prince George) to see that they are.
