Diane.Public Safety caught my eye
Looks like we have a couple of no nonesense harding candidates that are willing to jump in and get things done. Best luck to all.
And what's the dogs name?

This candidate won't get my vote. We have had enough examples of the harm and deterioration to the downtown by the activities of social workers.

Kind of reminds me of councilor Denis Goodkey talk.
PolCat, there is no making you happy, about anything. Why don't you jump into the race, if you know so much!!

And before you say it, yes, I am considering running for council. I was born here, and I am truly tired of the way this city is run!! It is a #*%* hole downtown, the roads are a disaster, and we have the mayor and council going on junkets to China, coming back with nothing more than a suntan.

It has to stop NOW!!

And my dog's name??? YamaDooPolCat??? Bad dog PolCat, bad dog!!!

And why would I want to get elected to city council to sit with a bunch of social workers? I'd either fall asleep or start swearing. Waste of time. Hope the taxes don't go up tooo much this year.
She wants to see action now not later. How many candidates are there who say that they do not want to see action now, but want to just hang around for a while at a tea party every few weeks?

An opportunity to breathe new life into this community now. I thought that opportunity was there once every three years in communities around the province. More people stating the obvious.

Odds are six of the eight incumbents will run. All will get re-elected. There will be a new mayor and two new councillors.
An ideal city council is one that provides and accounts for many perspectives from the community... so maybe during the campaign Diane will be able to describe how her perspective fits a need that we don't already have on the current council? I'm not sure if we have any other candidates from the Miller Addition, so thats a good start because thats a part of town that could need representation on council.

If all our councilors come from College Heights and they are then voting on curbs in the Hart, or crime in the VLA... is it good that none of them share the perspective of it being their neighborhood?
A Ward proponent I see.
Social worker eh? Hmmm? Either one of them full time cheque writers or someone "telling" someone else how to live. Can't help but be cynical about that particular facet of genuine Canadian life. Still I wish her luck. People who like their dogs cannot be all bad.
