Prince George, B.C. - The Federal Green Party now has a candidate for the Prince George-Peace River riding—Hillary Crowley will be running against Conservative incumbent Jay Hill.

Speaking from her Summit Lake Home, Crowley says the Environment will be in the forefront of her campaign. “How to fix that with the economy, [I want to] try to explain to people that you can take care of the Environment without damaging the Economy.”

Asked about her thoughts on Liberal Leader Stephane Dion's 'carbon tax' idea, she says she likes it, but: “I don't think it's quite gone far enough. We agree with the Carbon Tax and also some Cap and Trade.”

Crowley says it's something the Liberals have taken from their campaign but says she's in favour of it. “We think it's the only way to shift people away from the heavy dependency from fossil fuels.”

Hillary Crowley, a physiotherapist, ran against Jay Hill in the last three Federal Elections.

Betty Bekkering of Prince George will also run in the riding for the NDP.

Where are all the elections signs? Ya wouldn't know there was an election if ya din't listen to the media. Or is this another ho-hum Con slam dunk? Hope so.
The signs are not allowed to be up yet. Personally I find the signs, and the related vandalism to them, just a huge waste of time and effort.
I agree.
The signs are an eyesore and really serve little purpose other than to clutter up the landscape.
How many people see someones name on a sign and say "wow, I gotta vote for that dude"!
It is about the issues and platforms that make the most sense to the voter, and we don't get that off a sign on front lawn or a street corner!
A certain MP/candidate federally has his sign up all year round. I guess that is OK as long as ya don't put the word "vote or elect" on it.
