Prince George, B.C.- Three time City Councillor, Don Zurowski has made it official, he is going to take a run for the Mayor's chair.
Zurowski says he's running because it’s an important time for strong civic leadership in the region. “I know that the future is bright for Prince George if we move forward with urgency and do the right things”.
Zurowski is confident heding in to the race.“I believe that I have broad support from all facets of our community and will work hard to represent the community as a whole, and community support is essential when facilitating change and progress.”
“I remain committed to diversifying our economy by developing new opportunities. I believe an employed community is more inclined to be a healthy community.”
Zurowski says he expects there will be challenges for the City, "We will face them with enthusiasm and courage; Prince George has amazing potential, and we need to believe it, and sell it to those interested in living or investing in our community”.
That's not to say he plans to stray from the basics of civic services such as snow removal, garbage collection, sewer and water, roads or sidewalks.
He envisions the future of Prince George as a great Urban Centre that has addressed those quality of life aspects such as improved air quality, a progressive curbside recycling program, a transportation network and amenities that are second to none.
Zurowski is the only candidate so far to step forward for the Mayor's chair, although there is speculation former Councilor Dan Rogers will also take a shot at it.
