Prince George, B.C.- Three time City Councillor, Don Zurowski has made it official,  he is  going to take a run for the Mayor's chair.

Zurowski says he's running because it’s an important time for strong civic leadership in the region. “I know that the future is bright for Prince George if we move forward with urgency and do the right things”.

Zurowski is confident  heding in to the race.“I believe that I have broad support from all facets of our community and will work hard to represent the community as a whole, and community support is essential when facilitating change and progress.”

“I remain committed to diversifying our economy by developing new opportunities.  I believe an employed community is more inclined to be a healthy community.”

Zurowski  says he expects there will be challenges for the City, "We will face them with enthusiasm and courage; Prince George has amazing potential, and we need to believe it, and sell it to those interested in living or investing in our community”.
That's not to say he plans to stray from the basics of  civic services such as snow removal, garbage collection, sewer and water, roads or sidewalks.

He envisions the future of Prince George as a great Urban Centre that has addressed those quality of life aspects such as improved air quality, a progressive curbside recycling program, a transportation network and amenities that are second to none.

Zurowski is the only  candidate  so far to step forward  for the Mayor's chair, although  there is  speculation former Councilor Dan Rogers will also take a shot at it.

Next mayor.
If you liked Kinsley, you'll like Zurowski.
The good thing about Zurowski running for Mayor is that if he loses, he will also be gone as a Councillor. What more could you ask for???
Palopu, just like what happened to Danny boy last time.
Say it ain't so, please!
Donnie is a nice guy, but we need some new people, electing Councillor Z to the mayors chair is only going to perpetuate the type of leadership we have been saddled with for too many years. I liked Kinsley too, many years ago, he seemed to be more like Moose Scott, an alderman for the people, but things change, and so too should our current council.
metalman.
I always judge the people who have been in office for the past years in a special way, especially when they make comments like, "I know that the future is bright for Prince George if we move forward with urgency and do the right things". So basically for your past three years in office that hasn't been happening ? I don't believe all the marketeers about the bright future, please demonstrate it !

P.S. City Hall those two big pot holes outside of my house are still not patched after over a month of waiting / calling. Even the transit bus is having troubles getting around them now.
"community support is essential when facilitating change and progress.”

What a useless statement, they do what they want with or without community support.
I was going to comment on Zurowski's inane statments, but they have been covered by lunarguy, and lostfaith.
If ya vote alphabetically vote fer Alvin Aardvark if possible.
This is a scary thought....
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ,not!
Zurowski or Rogers? Hmmmmmmm.
Who's behind door # 3 ????
Don, Baby, was at the grand opening of the downtown casino - cutting the ribbon - afterwards he did tell a group of us that it was a ++ for the downtown and the economic future was there for PG -well, Don you were wrong on both occasions - take a rest -you won't change - same old stuff at City Hall.
just goes to prove the old saying, "the more things change, the more they remain the same"
Colin was good for PG. At the very least he prevented Don B and Dan R from dabbling with our tax money.

Although it took forever, the airport lands are finally open for development. Dan or Don would have still been muddling around and studing that one.

We won't vote for any councilors or any candidate for Mayor that voted in favour of the Shelter on Queensway and ignored the tax payers who have lived in the area for years. We have had more than our share. Connaught Miller Residents please remember who they are.
Zurowski LMAO it be sad day in hell before i vote for him......

The Downtown is distroyed, drive down george st. around the needle exchange people this City has brought in from all over, look at the garbage on the sidewalk and the street. We went for supper tonight at Parkwood and met a very aggresive panhandler. He swore at me and chased me when I would not give him money and them he banged on the window of the restaraunt and said to the people inside that he hoped they choke on their food. This white guy is very bad and scary, watch out for him. Parkwood is the next place to be distroyed with the Connaught Miller area . How does Don Z. feel about this and what is he going to do about it??.
Don or Dan? Hhhmmm.
What other choice is there?
My user name says it all.
