Go to "gasbuddy" and see what the pump price is in Houston, Texas ---- boggles the mind. Why has there not been a big price jump there too???? Maybe the refinery on Pulp Mill road was destroyed by Ike --- not the ones in Texas.

Jack Layton is the only one to step up to the plate so far,to take on BIG oil.
GW Harper will not to much money going into the coffers.Oil now stands at less then $100 bucks a barrel, but we are paying $142 a barrel prices. So don't be shocked when the next Quarter the oil companys make 60 billon.Do not count on GW Harpe to do anything HE's from Alberta and he's not a conservative he's a REFORMER dressed up as a conservative.Sound familier like the WOLF in sheeps clothing.Where do we start the boycott campaign, lets start with ESSO.

Jack Late'n will say anything to garner a few more votes, Elsie's Dad, don't be impressed with his blather. Look at the attack ads the federal ndp has on television, they are blaming Harper for everything, I was not aware for example that Harper himself discovered the tar sands. All the parties say some pretty stupid things I guess they think that's what we want to hear, or they think we are dumb enough to believe their Bull.

Harper actually DID cut the GST and is promising to cut $0.02 per litre off the federal excise tax on diesel and aviation fuel. It's not much, it is more than the others are offering at this point.

Elsies DAD, I see what you did there, very clever. You wrote GW Harper as if Harper was somehow just like George Bush and you didn't have to provide any proof of that what so ever.

Hahaha politicians solving high gas prices.. Riggghhtttttt. Got anymore jokes! Its the consumer that has to do something about it. Mass boycott on the company's with the highest earnings would do the trick. The problem is trying to get everyone to think the same way without playing the political rat race game. The companys are doing quite well in figuring out how to get money out of the consumer but the consumer is too stupid to play the game!!

I am not supporting the oil companies by any means but about 25% of gas price is driven by open market speculation. The oil companies are getting huge profits because of this. But they do help this speculation along by decreasing production.

We were down in Quesnel Saturday and Sunday. Some of the private outlets were still at 134.9 and 136.9. Neither were the big cheat companies. Nobody in Prince George had the lower prices that I could find. Friday Can Tire was still at 136.9. We witnessed near fights for the pumps, with ignoramuses in the 1 ton pickups forcing their way into the pump without waiting like the rest of us.

Keep the gas scarce. Just like De Beers does with it's diamonds. Flood the market with diamonds and the price goes down.
