Prince George, B.C.- The air quality advisory that was issued late yesterday has been cancelled.
Based on the air quality data in the downtown and College Heights areas, the high levels were due to a mix of dust (coarser particles), and combustion emissions (smoke).
The weak disturbance which went through the region late last night helped improve the air quality. The 24 hour PM10 rolling average was 50 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown site at 10:00 am, 58 µg/m3 at BCR, and 37 µg/m3 at College Heights. The 24 hour PM2.5 rolling average was 22 µg/m3 at the Plaza 400 downtown and 18 µg/m3 at College Heights. Even though the 24-hour average for PM10 at the Plaza and BCR sites are still above 50 µg/m3, hourly values are expected to remain low for the rest of the day.
