Prince George, B.C.- The days of King sized chocolate bars, and jumbo hot dogs are numbered.

Prince George City council has adopted the healthy food and beverages policy for public facilities.

To start, the changes will take place in the CN Centre, Coliseum, Prince George, Playhouse, Civic Centre, Four Seasons pool, P.G. Aquatics Centre, the Elks centre and Kin centres.
Currently the vending machines carry 71% beverages that are considered "unhealthy" and more than 80% of the snacks are considered "unhealthy".

So, the policy says vending machines have to have a 50-50 balance of Choose Most-Choose Sometimes category with other foods like chocolate bars and chips and that at least one vegetable or fruit be offered among other items at concessions.

The policy also calls for  other food options, for instance, if a concession offers a hamburger, it must also offer a turkey burger or veggie burger.

The implementation plan is flexible to allow for current contracts to expire, but where there is no contract, the changes are expected to take place immediately, although the exact timing will be up to the managers of each facility.

I would like to see the small kiosk at the hospital offer some healthy snacks as well.
Most people that go and fill their faces at City Blds are fat overweight people who like junk food ...The city serves Booze to the drunks at every chanch, Why not FAT food.
Well thats a fine how do you do.
Now I will have to buy 3 chocolate bars, 2 hotdogs and 2 large drinks at the same time to make up for them no longer allowing the supersized ones.
How will I carry all this to my seat?

Who are these people that we pay to think these things up?
Don't they have anything better they can do with my taxdollars than to waste them on this BS?

Unfreakinbelievable
Little tray of tofu and a bottle of water. Yum yum!
