Harleys at the Civic Centre

Prince George, B.C. - This year's ATV and Motorcycle Show at the PG Civic Centre featured new models—and that included Harley Davidsons.
Frank Compagnon—who was there earlier today—has a 1999 and a 2007 just for himself, as well as another one for his wife.
Though he says he likes the older ones, he says the new models have a lot to offer. “Nice changes made to them—the clutch is easier to pull in, which has been some issue in the past,“ said Compagnon.
“A new paint scheme out and bigger tire on the back—there's bigger engines and six speed trannys too.”
“More tire life, more kilometers before they wear out, and better handling characteristics—that's the biggest reason for why the bigger tires,” said Len Hall, the owner of the Harley Davidson store in Prince George.
He says this year's Harley's aren't just for the men in the world.
“In the last 3 or 4 years, we're seeing the percentage of women [buying from us] doubling every year, just about,” said Len Hall. “We were doing like 2% of the bikes we sold Women, and now we're probably about six to eight percent.”
As for why? “In today's realm, independent women are becoming more relevant in society—we're seeing women buying bigger motorcycles; before they would buy the smaller ones, that's not the case anymore.” He says they also have accessories to suit anyone.
It's touch only for Ed Kwalheim who also visited the Harley section. “It's a beautiful bike, but I think they're a little bit overpriced,” said Kwalheim. “I wouldn't buy a Harley, just because I don't have the money,” but “[the company] lives up to their name.
