Prince George, B.C. - BC Hydro crews are making headway after a power outage early this morning.

“Our crew has managed to do some switching which has resulted in customers north of 5th avenue being back on,” said Hydro spokesperson Bob Gammer.

“South of 5th avenue—we are hoping that we will have them back on by noon or 12:30 today.”

Gammer says they're still investigating what caused the outage, but he says because the outage involved underground equipment it's taking crews some time.

“They basically try to isolate the problem areas so they're doing switching—it's kind of a time consuming process—partly complicated, because it's underground wires.

He says "it also takes some time to repair if they have to replace cables.”

Power to almost 400 customers went out at 2:46 am
