Prince George, B.C.-  It will be a Harper government,  and it will be a minority government.

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May has lost her bid to get elected.  She lost to incumbent Conservative Peter MacKay.

The hope of NDP leader Jack Layton to grab a share of power in Canada failed to materialize in Canada tonight.
With the count still to come for 8 seats, the NDP holds 34 seats to sit in fourth place overall in Canada, behind the Block who captured 47 seats in Quebec where the Conservatives failed to make any major gains.

As the Numbers change,  so will the  numbers on this page.

Refresh often.

At the time of dissolution,  the Harper government had 126 seats when the election was called but needed 155 to have a majority government.

Liberal candidate Drew Adamick told Opinion 250 it was too early to call this election  but he hoped the Harper team would not get a majority.  He said  the thought of  Harper majority was scary.  Twenty yearold Adamick says  he hoped to win a seat because 50 years from now, it will be the young people who will have to clean up the mess that's being created today so why not start now.  He also asked, if the Harper  team ends up with a minority government,  will this (the election) be considered  a waste of $300 million dollars?
