The R.C.M.P.'s North District Traffic Services is asking city residents to re-consider travel plans today.
Sergeant Gord Flewelling says this morning's light snowfall has made routes into and out of the city extremely slippery.
Flewelling says maintenance crews are working to salt the roads, but there have been several accidents already this morning, with a number of vehicles in the ditch..
He says both highways 16 and 97 are icy, with compact snow making it difficult to see the highway lines.
