Dick Harris running in the recently created Cariboo-Prince George tonight is headed for re-election in the riding.

He was holding onto a lead of 52.6% of the vote compared to Bev Collins of the NDP who was making a surprise showing of 26.6%

Harris is expected to carry the riding for the Conservatives who did not send any heavy weights into the riding feeling that they would be able to hold onto the riding.

26.6% is a suprise showing?
If you check the internet you would think everybody and their dog would be supporting the NDP.
I'm glad that's not the case despite all the leftwing propaganda through the media.
Congratulations Dick!
Keep up the good work!
The other parties didn't even try. Maybe if the other parties ran some viable candidates they could have given Dick and Jay a run for their money. Oh well, maybe next time.

Maybe the Green's could've sent OUR Vancouver based candidate bus fare to PG. Is that too much to ask? I knew for some reason over a hundred green ninnies here would vote for her even if she was 500 miles away. Speaks volumes about some peoples IQs.
Any one else get a phone call from the Conservatives wanting your vote?
How dare they????
My hotdog got cold while I was slamming down the reciever...
So much for the do not call registry....
Maybe the people who voted Liberal can pay Mr. Dion his carbon tax voluntarily. Who knows? It might catch on and instead of having to pay it by law the Libs can put their money where their mouth is and lead by example. As an aside, Gordon Campbell has to know now that his pal Dion and his carbon tax didn't fare well here. Time to retrench and reconsider, Gordo? May will be here before ya know it. And I ain't talking Elly May and her overbite either.
Hey BCRacer, the do not call list exempts political parties.
Congrats Dick, now you can continue to be on of the most ineffective, longest sitting, MP's on the hill. Maybe one day you'll get a cabinet position, but I won't hold my breath.
I agree with you govsux. I call him Useless Dick.

Very surprised that the Green could not get even one person in. What a shift in the political field.

Well, looks like Gordon Campbell has to do some work before he calls a vote. Looks like an awful lot of loyal NDP'ers out there.
If you read the posters on this site, then we should theoretically have a strong NDP majority.

Oh, but there's that 'silent majority' out there always messing things up!
