No One Injured In Kitimat Fire

Kitimat BC- No one was injured but damage is extensive in a fire that occurred in Kitimat this afternoon. The fire broke out early this afternoon but was contained to a single unit by fire fighters.
The blaze at 319 Quatsino resulted to extensive smoke damage to several other units. The estimate of damage is not known.
The blaze is being investigated.

The fire happened in the same building I used to live in back in 1993. These apartments were built in 1980. If I remember correctly, that particular unit is a one bedroom. The sliding doors are off the living room and the small window is the bedroom. All units run off of electric heat.
They had the fire out within a few hours. It sure reminded me of the Baxter fire earlier this year - for a short time anyhow!
