Prince George, B.C.- The Cameron Street Bridge project has received a little more than expected from the ProBike BC program.   The program will contribute $250,000 in provincial funding towards the new cycling lane on the bridge that will be a 2.5 meter separated cycling/pedestrian pathway that will be part of the reconstruction of the bridge.
That amount is $50 thousand more than was expected.
As for when the bridge will be complete, the City’s Superintendent of Operations, Bill Gaal says that all depends on the weather “If the fall is good, well then concrete pouring can continue, but if it turns too cold to pour, then I would think it is very unlikely the bridge will be complete by the end of the year.”

Please, please use any extra money towards cycling in other areas of the city. If you were going to do it thinking you were going to get 50,000 less, surely it can be used else where?
I like to ride my bike next to big trucks with their exhaust across the Cameron Street bridge and also riding my bike easily up the hill on the Hart. To the weigh scales. Might want to weigh me and my bike. Such fun. Life is good.
Lots of bikes in the winter.
