Wes Mcleod Pledges To Alaska

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Spruce Kings Junior A Hockey Club of
the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) is pleased to announce that Spruce
Kings defenceman, Wes McLeod, has committed to a four year scholarship at
the University of Alaska Anchorage, a NCAA Division I school offering many
Occupational, Undergraduate, Associate, Graduate, Masters and Doctoral
degrees. UAA plays in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA),
against other schools in the Midwestern and Western United States.

Currently playing in his second season with the Prince George Spruce Kings,
Wes McLeod has picked up a goal and ten helpers through 16 games with 24
penalty minutes. McLeod was an unheralded Midget AAA player in Kamloops
before being identified by the Prince George Spruce Kings. In two years he
has developed into an elite defenceman in the British Columbia Hockey League
and was recently listed on the NHL Central Scouting Watch List for the 2009
NHL Entry Draft.
