Prince George, B.C.- The Executive Chef of the Prince George Civic Centre was recently selected from 22,000 employees of Compass Group Canada to receive a special award from the company’s CEO. The CEO Special Recognition Award acknowledges outstanding performance, achievement and a commitment to success – all characteristics of Chef Jorge Soares .
Jorge’s culinary performance at the Prince George Civic Centre has been so outstanding that Compass CEO Jack MacDonald selected Jorge from hundreds of managers across Canada to give him one of nine awards handed out during the company’s Top Managers Meeting in Ottawa.
“This year there were only two other CEO Special Awards in Compass Group Canada, so we are very proud that Jorge was selected for this honour,” commented Prince George Civic Centre Manager, Colleen van Mook. “Compass Canada is a large company with over a thousand operations across Canada and for Jorge to be selected really proves what we already know: he is a talented Chef and is critical to the success of the Civic Centre.”
Jorge has made the Prince George Civic Centre kitchen his “home” for more than twelve years. Dedication to his trade and the facility has made Chef Jorge highly regarded both in the community and the industry. Born in Portugal, he grew up in Prince George and graduated from PGSS and CNC’s Culinary Arts program.
