Quality of Life Trends

Prince George, B.C.- There hasn’t been much change over the years when it comes to the feelings of residents of Prince George about where they live .
The latest Quality of Life Survey shows the trend on satisfaction with the quality of life has remained virtually unchanged over the past 14 years (the pink line in the graph below ) but that happiness is increasing ( blue line).
The next graph shows that while there has been modest but increasing growth in satisfaction with financial security (green line) however, the study was done in May,  four months before the markets crashed.  There has been virtually no change in satisfaction with housing  (blue line) or neighbourhood (pink line)

Dr. Michalos says the scores are similar to scores from  cities all over the world.  He said the lowest scores are always road maintenance and repairs, "We always get the  lowest scores for that,  that is universal."
He says when it comes to satisfaction with services, there is always a high regard for fire services and library services, and road maintenance is at the bottom,  pretty much around the world.

Who really cares. Live, have fun while your here, pass on. End of story.
What did this chart cost us? We had to pay for this when all anyone had to do was read Opinion 250 to see what the real people think.
Seems to me that the results of this survey and comments on this site are polar opposites.
"He said the lowest scores are always road maintenance and repairs, "We always get the lowest scores for that, that is universal."

Ah well, how nice it feels to fit in with the rest of the non-performers - if Dr. Michalos' statement is in fact true.

We wouldn't want to make an effort to get out of that miserable ratings group, now would we?

Let them eat cake!

We need the CAA to provide a similar service to BC as they do in Ontario. Michelos is right on the money.

Do the road conditions in Kingston, for example, conditions sound familiar?

That does not mean we should accept the conditions. It means that we are not unique. We are also not unique in thinking that we are unique. You know, that bit about the greener grass on the other side of the hill.

Anyone on here a CAA member that wants to bring this program to BC? Act! Don't just bitch!
