Quesnel, B.C.-  The  Council for Quesnel has  authorized  spending approximately $61,000 to design a full-scale dewatering program for the West Quesnel Land Stability study area.

Monitoring costs for 2008 are well below budget, which left a surplus of $85,522 in the West Quesnel Land Stability account. This surplus will be used to design the next phase of the program.

The trial dewatering program ran in the spring of 2008. It showed that groundwater levels and pressures decreased in areas where dewatering efforts were made and provided a good direction for the next phase. While the provincial government is still reviewing those results, the City will advise the Ministry of the proposed action and seek endorsement of the plan.

The City of Quesnel has invested more than $1 million towards finding a lasting solution to the West Quesnel Land Stability issue. The provincial government has provided close to $1.2 million.

Good news. If our city spends much more money on pac and dosent get its spending under control Quesnel seems like a good alternative for PG tax payers.

Great place to garden it is a growing zone 4. One warmer then PG.
