Prince George, B.C.- Further to Opinion 250’s story last week showing crime rates have fallen in Prince George, the  local RCMP detachment has released its report which covers all crime for the first nine months of the year.
The graphs (scroll down for the details) clearly show that in all areas (except homicide) crime has fallen.   As of the end of September the homicide rate remained unchanged from the same period last year, with one death.   Those figures will change in the next quarter when three more deaths will be added to the totals.
Total Criminal Code Offences are down 2819 files (reported to Police). Person crimes and total Property crimes are also down, with probably the most significant reduction seen, is in aggravated assault offences, down two thirds.
Vehicles thefts are down by half and both robbery and B & E's down by almost a half.
Constable Gary Godwin says there are several reasons for the reductions, including the new crime reduction progranm and the bait vehicle program.

Where do we rate in the unsolved murders section?
give everyone a gun and the right to protect themselves ot their property and just maybe crime stats would fall farther
Downnotout:
We could look at the US for a system that gives everyone guns and then compare our crime rate to theirs......
should check out the crime stats in Switzerland.
maybe the cops were just real lazy this year and waisted too much time
doing speed traps and seat belt checks
No, I think that the gang pukes are just pausing to re-load.
