Time Nearly Up to Comment on Pedestrian Policy
Monday, November 14, 2005 03:15 AM
The deadline to submit your thoughts on the City of Prince George's Pedestrian Policy is tomorrow.
The Policy deals with design, construction, and maintenance of public sidewalks, crosswalks, and other pedestrian facilities.
There is a "Pedestrian Study Final Report" available to read before making comment.
If you would like to read the report, or take part in the Pedestrian Policy Survey, call the City of Prince George at 561-7600, or visit the City's website (www.city.pg.bc.ca) to fill out the on-line questionnaire.

1. don't put the poles there in the first place if you know sidewalks will follow
2. move the poles (expensive) so the sidewalk can be placed adjacent to the curb
3. move the sidewalk away from the curb, which also means less splashing from adjacent traffic on those slushy days
4. curve the pavement away from and around the post, leaving a wide enough sidewalk to allow people with strollers and those in power chairs to pass with relative ease.
