Quesnel-  The North Cariboo referendum has passed by a vote of 2,765 to 2,525. While these results are unofficial it is unlikely that any major change will occur to see the referendum defeated.

The referendum was to borrow up to $15 million dollars to build a new arena, theatre, and multipurpose rooms in Quesnel.

The Regional districts who are contributing to the facility were also voting on the referendum.

The result of this referendum tells me the "borrow and spend" attitude is alive and well in Quesnel.
It is also alive and well with with the G20 - for infrastructure that government typically builds.
spending money on this:

well that is another story
I think that the results quoted above are for the city and the CRD combined. I understand that the city voters approved and the CRD ones rejected. If this is so does that mean that the CRD residents dragged in regardless of their vote?
