Olympic Torch to Be in Prince George January 29th, 2010

Prince George, BC – The route for the 2010 Olympic Torch relay has been set and Prince George is on it!
The torch arrives in Prince George January 29th 2010 for an evening celebration and P.G. is listed as a “Route City” for the 30th of January.

The Olympic Torch will arrive in Victoria on October 30th of next year, and will then travel far north before hitting Canada’s eastern most point “Cape Spear” Newfoundland and beginning its journey back west.
The flame will be transported by car, ferry or plane between the communities. The Olympic Torch Relay route may be updated and further details including street level routes and timings will be added closer to the Olympic Flame’s arrival in Canada.
VANOC says the torch will reach 90% of Canada’s communities and the relay will cover 35 thousand kilometres, over approximately 100 days, and involving 12,000 torchbearers 35,000-kilometre journey .
The journey of the flame will culminate at BC Place on February 12, 2010 with the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron, signalling the start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
