The Olympic Torch will arrive in Victoria on October 30th of next year, and will then travel   far north before hitting Canada’s eastern most point “Cape Spear” Newfoundland and beginning its journey back west.
The flame will be transported by car, ferry or plane between the communities. The Olympic Torch Relay route may be updated and further details including street level routes and timings will be added closer to the Olympic Flame’s arrival in Canada.

VANOC says the torch will reach 90% of Canada’s communities and the relay will cover 35 thousand kilometres, over approximately 100 days, and involving 12,000 torchbearers 35,000-kilometre journey .

The journey of the flame will culminate at BC Place on February 12, 2010 with the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron, signalling the start of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Canadians are invited to try to win a spot as a torch bearer. RBC and Coca Cola have launched a contest for Canadians. You can apply and find out more about being a torchbearer by clicking rbc.com/carrythetorch and icoke.ca.

That wont be good for air quality
Yep, better move it out of PG :)
Let's hope the torch bearer isn't asthmatic, has an attack and ends up in our emergency ward.....the games might be over by the time he/she gets out of there!
Wow...it seems its coming to Mackenzie too.....how cool is that?
We should close all our industries down too, just like China did

We're well on our way...
It would be better to give Mackenzie $$ for their unemployed forestry workers than a 10 minute torch tour through the town.
As for PG - hope it is a windy, cold day so the torch can be seen through our polluted air. Northerners have better ideas what to do with the money that is been spent foolishly on a torch run.

"Northerners have better ideas what to do with the money that is been spent foolishly on a torch run."

If the torch relay DIDN'T go through PG the main topic would be "shafted again" "why didn't we get it"

Some people simply cannot be happy.

I am happy the torch is coming through town! Symbolic of our tax dollars going up in smoke so the pampered few can have a big party at our expense.
It will begin in Victoria on Oct. 30, 2009, and then travel up through B.C. and into Canada's North. (qoute taken from mytelus home page)...

Then why so long to get to Prince George!
I agree with woodwomen, the money could be better spent and no I wouldn't say 'shafted again' if the torch didn't come here. I could care less if it came here. The money the gov't is spending on the olympics could be better spent on the unemployeed workers in BC & the rest of Canada. Look after our own first. And what about health care. There is a whole lot more this money could be spent on. Look at all the people in Vancouver who are homeless now because of the olympics. It shouldn't be allowed to happen.
See you tax dollars in flames!
Maybe the torch bearer will fall and we'll have downtown revitalization...LOL
