PRINCE GEORGE - In January , CNC will launch a new pilot program offering college students opportunities to develop the attitudes, skills and behaviours of ethical and effective leadership. With this program, CNC is seeking
to build on the success of the Leadership 11 and 12 courses offered by the Prince George School District and D.P. Todd Secondary School.

The College of New Caledonia's new Leadership Lab is receiving more than $13,000 from the provincial government to support the project in building strong leaders for the future.

"This is exciting news for the College," said CNC President John Bowman. "We anticipate that this unique leadership program will make a significant difference to students, to CNC, and to the North."

The Leadership Lab at CNC will include two courses, LEAD101 and LEAD102, which will include core components focused on personal development, relationship development and leading in the public eye. The program will
include both a solid theoretical foundation, as well as extensive experiential learning through service projects conducted by students.

The college will also be actively engaging local businesses and non-profit organizations to provide in-kind and cash contributions to the project to maximize the benefits and positive impacts that the
Leadership Lab will have for students and the community as a whole.
