Prince George, B.C.-  The latest radio ratings have been released.

The ratings are the  means by which  radio stations  attract advertisers.  The "ratings" are held  twice a year ( spring and fall) and are usually  the time of year when stations hold their  biggest contests.

The  fall 2008  numbers show that for all available listeners in the Prince George area, aged 12 and up, The Wolf is number one!

Here is the breakdown of the current ratings ( what folks in the business refer to as "the book") compared to  the last two rating periods:

Fall ‘08
CJCI

The balance of avalable listeners are made up of those tuned to stations such as CFIS,  CFUR, and satellite radio none of which subscribe to the rating service so they are not included in the results. CBC's numbers are expected to be released tomorrow.

who listens to any of the local crap? I am amazed people do...long live satellite radio....
Congrats VISTA, not only the Community Booster award, but 1/2 in the ratings!
Businesses who spend ANY of their advertising budget on local radio....should pay close attention to these numbers! And if they are really smart....they would DEMAND similar information/numbers for ALL media...from their ad reps. TV ratings, newspaper comparisons, radio comparisons (like above), and comparisons for advertising on local internet sites. If you are a business owner and you want to be sure that your advertising dollars are well spent...make your reps do their homework...and PROVE the worth of their product. Just like you have to, with your product or service.
I am interested in the rating for the community station (cannot remember the code letters) since Ben joined their team. Bet it has increased alot...
I can't believe that a country twanging station beat out POP. Is there even a viable country cabaret in town any more?
I can only say "Congratulations" to The Wolf and 94x Radio Stations ~ a job well done both in the community and on the air waves! These people are truly dedicted to promoting the community and making Prince George a better place to live! Only smart business people would use the top stations and be informed about spending their marketing dollars wisely! Kudos!
