Prince George, B.C.- There is no getting through to Terrace or Prince Rupert by road today, at least not without major delays.
For the second time in a little over a year, there has been a rock slide on Highway 16. This time, it took place about 30 km west of the Highway 37 Junction at Kitwanga.
Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Dave Crebo says the experts are on scene “There are geo-techs on site assessing the situation and at this point we may be able to open up the highway to single lane alternating traffic by around noon.”
This slide carried about 30 cubic meters of material on to the highway.
