Prince George, B.C. - Provincial NDP Leader, Carole James will be in Prince George Monday, holding a rural caucus meeting.

The group will meet with business, civic and community leaders to discuss the proposed rural fund.

“Rural British Columbians should benefit from the wealth they create,” said James. She announced the fund during her speech to the Union of B.C. Municipalities convention in September. The rural caucus meetings are part of the consultation process to determine the best way to design and implement the fund. The caucus will also be making stops in Kamloops and Cranbrook later in the week.

NDP MLA Robin Austin, who is the opposition critic for rural issues, said the public is invited to offer their feedback at a roundtable discussion Monday evening at the College of New Caledonia.

“We’re gathering in Prince George to present our framework and we also want to listen to the ideas of people who live in the Central Interior about their vision for the future,” said Austin.

The roundtable begins at 7 p.m. Monday in room 2-107 at CNC.

The caucus has several meetings scheduled with groups including the Prince George Chamber of Commerce, Initiatives Prince George and Stand Up for the North. Individual members of the caucus will also be meeting stakeholders in their respective critic areas.

Wasn't Carol James the one that wanted all the MLA's to be called back to sit in the House in Victoria?

Is the House no longer in session?

Typical NDP, just can't stop wasting money.

If the NDP gets in power again they will need to start a Rural Abandonned House fund so the utilities get paid when the people walk away fom their mortgages. The NDP didn't do this last time around so the NDP should be better prepared this election. Another party platform plank to shove the taxpayer off of.

The first ones to dip into the Rural Abandonned House fund will be the party faithful on Opinion250!

When the NDP work...we don't. The thought of them back in power scaries the crap out of me. I just hope people remember the last time they were running the province.
If the NDP could get their financial management plans in place so they don't spend the whole bank they might be better than the current government that seem set on selling off all our BC Assets to foreigners!
Some of you guys make me laugh!
The NDP is mentioned and Yama surfaces, thought you left dude.
Death to Socialism. nuff said.
Carol James is horrible, boourns for her visit.
...a waste of skin if you ask me. IMHO

seamutt says "..The NDP is mentioned and Yama surfaces, thought you left dude.."

Not left Dude. Never left. Never was left never will be.
The thought of them back in power scaries the crap out of me.

For those who think the NDP is scary just waite untill its pay out time after the olympics. I hope the NDP will not be elected in May. I want Gordo to face that song.

Yama wont leave town Yama youll be heading for Edmonton ot ther points east to get away from Gordos debt. No I dont have to go I will survive on my OAS and CPP. Slim pickens but been there and done that before.

Cheers Yama
From reading your posts Yahma, I would have to agree that you are never left. But then you are seldom right either.
I sure can't agree with some of your comments. Any party is only as good as its leader. The last 2 premiers have been horrible. Fast ferries, Olympics.... yuck. Both disasters... but I believe the Olympics will be the larger. Can you imagine the cost of security alone ?

The press treats Campbell far too kindly... can you imagine what they would do if an if an NDP premier was charged with DUI ?

And when I see someone sign himself Death to Socialism , I shake my head. I had a relative in the US who had to pay for his bypass surgery. He could afford the six figure hit, but he thought that our socialist system looked quite good.
See the three new ferries the Fiberals had built with subsidized money are having serious problems.
