Prince George, B.C.- There will be one more meeting in the Prince George Council chambers before Mayor Colin Kinsley turns the reins over to Mayor elect, Dan Rogers.
This afternoon, council will convene to discuss a couple of matters.
First, there is the issue of the expansion of the Downtown Business Association. The staff report indicates the petition opposing the expansion falls short of the needed 50% both in numbers of property owners, (23%) and in assessed values (26%). Staff recommend Council approve the expansion. The current executive of the Downtown Business Association has asked to appear before Council and that may have an impact on what Council decides to do about the matter.
Also on this final agenda, a request that Council approve spending $100 thousand dollars for the next phase of the Performing Arts Centre’s work.
There will also be a presentation to Mayor Colin Kinsley and the four Councillors who are not returning; Sherry Sethen, Don Zurowski, Shirley Gratton and Glen Scott.
