Spruce Kings Score Big

PRINCE GEORGE, BC - The Prince George Spruce Kings is extremely proud of the announcement that a team record five players have been selected to this year’s British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) All Star Game to be held January 14, 2009 in Vernon, BC.
Spruce Kings Goaltender Kevin Genoe along with defencemen Zach Davies and Wes McLeod as well as forwards Sam Muchalla and Sean Ambrosie have all been selected to represent the Prince George Spruce Kings on the Interior Division team at the annual showcase of talent in the BCHL.
Kevin Genoe, who recently won silver at the 2008 World Junior ‘A’ Challenge, will be one of three Interior Division goaltenders called upon to stop the Coastal Division All Stars. Team captain Zach Davies, who committed to Quinnipiac University earlier this season, is the Spruce Kings leading point getter among defenceman with 11 goals and 15 assists good for second in the league for his position.
Wes McLeod, in his second year with the Spruce Kings, has been enjoying an outstanding season already having been listed by NHL Central Scouting, signed to a four-year scholarship at the University of Alaska Anchorage and also selected to the Canada West roster at the CJHL Prospects Game later this month.
Prince George minor hockey product, Sam Muchalla will be attending his first ever All Star game after leading his team in scoring for the entire season and climbing up the league scoring leaderboard. With 43 points (16 goals and 27 assists), Muchalla is less than five points away from entering the top five list. Rounding out the Spruce Kings All Star selections is Sean Ambrosie, 15 goals and 18 assists has Ambrosie in the top twenty among BCHL goal scorers and second among first year players in the league.
