Building Permits Show Slight Decline

Prince George, B.C.- When it comes to building permits in Prince George, there isn’t much difference in the overall activity this year compared to last year.
For October 2007, there were 88 permits valued at $8,694,963.00 issued. In October 2008, there were 83 permits issued valued at $44,064,529.00
The year to date figures are also similar.
Jan-October 2007, 688 permits valued at $112,029,947.57
Jan-October 2008, 622 permits valued at $110,689,191.30
The major building permits launched in October of this year:
• Mark Work Warehouse 795-555 Central Street, , $397,000.
• Hospice House Addition 3089 Clapperton Street, , $1,389,000.
• Prince George Correctional Centre Addition 775 Highway 16 East, , (Foundation Only), $8,500,000.
• New Duchess Park Secondary School 747 Winnipeg Street, , (Foundation Only), $29,507,219.
Development Permits issued in October 2008:
• Residential Development Permit, Access Engineering Consultants for Mayatovic Construction, 4251 Guest Crescent, 20 unit condominium
• Commercial Development Permit, Versa Design Group for 360048 BC Ltd., 555- 795 Central Street, façade improvements to Spruceland Mall
• Industrial Development Permit, Central Interior Piping and Maintenance Ltd.,7405 Hart Highway, 312 square meter shop building
• Commercial Development Permit Smart Centres Management Inc., 6555 Southridge Avenue, 3129 metre addition to Wal-Mart
