Prince George, B.C. – Dancer Izaak Smith is home and is thrilled with the opportunity he had through the So You Think You Can Dance Canada competition. He praised the people of Prince George and his former co-workers at Tim Hortons for all their support during the competition, “They were amazing, they even got me a commercial!”
Izaak made the top six, and says the opportunity has opened more doors for him and he has offers to go to Vancouver and Toronto “So I have the basic decisions any dancer has to make.”
Speaking on the Meisner program this morning on 93.1 CFIS FM, Izaak says he is passionate about dance even though it can be exhausting “You have to lift your partner and make it look like she’s a feather,   and you can’t show that you’re tired even though every muscle is screaming, you just have to push through.”
When asked by a caller what it was like to dance in front of millions of Canadians  the 19 year old said it was different than being on a performance stage “It was intimidating that your actions were being recorded and be there forever on YouTube. It was really different being a dancer and connecting with the audience and then trying to connect with the cameras and thinking where’s the tally light,  which camera are they recording from?”
Izaak is going on the tour with the other members of the top ten. The show will be in Vancouver and Kelowna before heading eastward.
