IPG Hires Export Market Development Director

Prince George, B.C. - Initiatives Prince George has hired a new Director, Export Market Development, who will work with transportation companies, shippers and suppliers to build upon Prince George’s strategic position as a transportation hub. Mr. We Liu, originally from Beijing, China, has extensive experience in manufacturing and export marketing in his work with the world’s second largest public coal-based energy company, based in Beijing. He also has experience with a US firm, where he developed business partnerships, resulting in the company gaining a strong foothold in the Chinese market. "We are delighted to have Wei join us", said Tim McEwan, President and Chief Executive Officer of Initiatives Prince George. "Wei’s background in manufacturing and export market development, coupled with his strong, established connections in China, make him the ideal candidate to help us grow Prince George into an integrated and sustainable transportation, manufacturing, supply and service hub and the inland gateway to Asia and North America." Wei is fluent in English and Mandarin and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Toronto. "Initiatives Prince George will connect Wei with transportation, logistics and export-oriented manufacturers and businesses in Prince George," states Katherine Scouten, Vice-president, Economic Development. "This hire is well timed for us. We are focusing intently on developing our position as an intermodal hub for manufacturing shipments as part of our strategy to grow and diversify the regional economy. "
