The sketch of two men was done 12 years ago, but investigtor hopes it will jog someone's memory.
Prince George, B.C.- Private Investigator Ray Michalko , continues to work on what has become known as the Highway of Tears investigation.
Michalko has just faxed a flyer to 180 First Nations Organizations in cities towns and areas from Prince Rupert to 100 Mile House.
He has sent along sketches of two men. The sketches were originally released by the RCMP in 1996. The sketches were the result of a witness’s recollection under hypnosis. Back in 1996, the witness indicated the two men had gotten into a car with Lana Derrick in Terrace before Lana disappeared in October of 1995.
Michalko is hoping the sketch might jog someone’s memory and develop a new lead in the 19 year old college student’s disappearance. Lana was last seen alive at a gas station in Thornhill at the east end of Terrace.
Anyone with information is asked to call Michalko's toll free number at 1-866-962-5585.
When the RCMP started investigating the cases of missing or murdered women along Highway 16, they initially thought there were 9 cases. In October of 2007, after reviewing 200 files, they doubled that number to 18.
Michalko will be a guest on the Meisner program this morning on CFISFM 93.1 and here on Opinion 250 through live streaming audio.
