Mayor Dan Rogers reads the proclamation to dancer Izaak Smith
Prince George, B.C.- Tomorrow will be “ Izaak Smith Day” in Prince George.
Mayor Dan Rogers made the proclamation to honour the 19 year old dancer who made the top six in the So You Think you Can Dance Canada competition. Izaak threw his head back and said "Crazy" as Mayor Rogers  reminded Council  that Izaak received more votes than everyone on Council, combined.
Izaak  accepted the recognition saying he never expected this kind of  response from his community and he is totally blown away by it.  "Even though  I lost the competition, I gained so much" he told Council.
His parents,  sister and brother were in the gallery as Izaak  accepted the written version of the proclamation.
Izaak will be joining the So You Think You Can Dance tour  in the new year.

Well deserved Izaak :)
It was fun to watch you and all the other dancers - enjoy the tour!
Well done, young man.

Lets see what yo can do with this popularity. Make yourself proud by becoming the best that you can be.

why would we wanna name a day after a Gay dancer from a low budget canadian reality show?
Do I have to wear a special hat or something? Do I still have to go to work?
