Plumes from chimneys tell the tale  of how cold it is in Prince George as furnace's work overtime to keep off the chill.

Prince George -  The cold arctic air mass is expected to be with us for at least the next 7 days and temperatures will remain well below seasonal normals.

Tuesday’s low will be -26, Wednesday -27, Thursday -26, and Friday -25. The high expected on each of those days is expected to be -20. The long range weather forecast calls for colder than normal temperatures for the months of December, January, and February.

We however are not alone, as of 9:00 Monday night the temperatures in the southern US vacation spots were anything but warm.

Flagstaff Arizona checked in at -1 c , Palm Springs at 8 c, Bakersfield , California with 8-c, Las Vegas at 6-c, San  Antonio Texas with 1-c, and El Paso Texas with 6-c.

The cold arctic air has made its way down as far as the Mexican border in the USA and while Canadians generally expect to get weather in the -25 degree range at this time of the year, snow birds were caught unexpectedly when the cold air mass hit the southern USA.

If you happen to be heading for a vacation in the eastern part of the USA or the Eastern Seaboard of Mexico, take heart, the weather there is hot and is expected to remain that way.

Global warming for yer!
Still not cold enough to kill those pine beetles.
Yes, I wish it would hit -40 for about a month to kill off those beetles.
Yes, just a cold blast of air for a few days...normal for this time of year would'nt you say!
People all over the country are reacting that we have never had this before.
LoL, Now we can make our own hockey stick graph to show al gore and the other greenies how cold cycles work. This is great for the lower mainland to freeze some common sense into them. Gobal warming.. Come up here and prove it..
Yeah, 14 inches of snow one day followed by 5 degrees and rain the next, followed by a deep freeze.

Not something I've seen in my 40 years of life, but it must be cyclical right?

I mean global warming is us getting 30 degrees in January right?

There's more to global warming than just temperatures.
30 in Pto Vallarta today, it's all good.
And just to nit pick, at 6900 ft above sea level Flagstaff is no winter hotspot.
This is tropical compared to how cold it can get in January/February.
