The City of Prince George is looking for city residents interested in sitting on its newly-formed International Linkages Committee.

Back in September, councillors voted unanimously in favour of establishing the committee, pointing to the economic and cultural benefits.

The request came from the city's "Twinning Working Group".  Rep, Mary Ann Tierney, says the climate is ripe for linkages that will create interest in not only in selling our products overseas, but also in the possibility of bilateral investment and employment opportunities.

According to the city's website, applications are being sought from "enthusiastic, innovative individuals wishing to work on an exciting team that will work towards increased economic and cultural opportunities for the City of Prince George..." (for more info., click here)

The deadline for applications is Friday, December 2nd at 5pm. With City Council to consider the applicants at its regular meeting on December 19th.

Gee, I would fill out an application, but I have a distinct feeling they just would not welcome me into the fold!!!!!
I wonder why????
I have, in my time, invested a great deal of time and money in Prince George, but I just do not feel I could meet the expectations required to work with this "exciting" team.
Probably too many so called "visions" amongst the lot of them for me to contend with.
I am curious to see just how innovative they actually are while increasing economic and cultural opportunities.
Wonder what they have to sell overseas-as no actual product given mention.
The bilateral investment and employment opportunities ahould create a great deal of interest!!!
Who am I kidding????
I must really be suffering from boredom today to even respond to this new brain wave endorsed by council.
Just another stupid move!!!
