Prince George, B.C.- This is one of the busiest days for airline travel and there are some tips to make your trip easier.
First of all, if you are taking Christmas gifts in your carry on baggage, make sure they are not wrapped. Security will make you unwrap them if they are.
Before heading out to the airport, double check the arrival and departure times as recent storms have caused delays in to and out of other airports. (click here for arrivals, click here for departures)
If you are heading into the United States, you must have a passport.
Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport, to check in, and to get through security. Experts say you should add an extra half an hour to the normal two hour lead time.
Make sure you are aware of the weight restrictions on baggage. Your luggage will be weighed and depending on your airline, you will be asked to pay more if they tip the scales.
Some airlines will let you check in online up to 24 hours in advance of your flight, this will guranteee your seat, and save you some time at check in.
And if you are heading out to Prince George Airport to catch a flight, or to pick up guests, remember there is a bin set up to accept non perishable food items for the Salvation Army at the Information booth of YXS through to Christmas Day. Help spread the Holiday joy this season by dropping off a non perishable food item when you are picking up a passennger or departing from the Prince George Airport. The PGAA and Salvation Army thank you for your support of this initiative.
