Prince George -   For the most part drivers in Prince George took the advice of the Police and did not drive while impaired during New Years. Police say they are pleased with the overall choices made by most motorists.

Police say they encountered a large number of designated drivers, motorists who used operation red nose and numerous taxis.

Seven motorists who thought they would take the chance received 24 hour driving prohibitions and had their vehicles towed. Three others received Administrative driving prohibitions for alcohol. There were two possession of a controlled substance charges, four prohibited drivers taken off the road, one vehicle impound, one warrant executed, and about 30 provincial tickets handed out.

Police say they were encouraged that no one was charged with impaired driving in the police checks.

I was one of those. I called up the station and asked them whether I should drive after 6 beer. They said no. So I stayed home while my friends went out to get a pizza.
Alrighty then!
